Draft wording for Rabbi Landau’s review

The Orthodox Board of Rabbis (OR) is a board of Orthodox rabbonim, founded in 2026 under the leadership of Rabbi Shalom Landau, the Rivnitzer Rav.

OR stands for Torah and halacha as handed down through the generations. Its rabbonim serve the community with rabbinic guidance, and OR maintains its own Beis Din for Dinei Torah, Gittin, kashrus questions and other matters of halacha.

Our name: אור

Or is the Hebrew word for light. כי נר מצוה ותורה אור (Mishlei 6:23): the mitzvos are a lamp, and the Torah is the light. That is the light we hope to carry.

What we stand for

• Torah-true. Explicitly Orthodox, guided by halacha.
• A real Beis Din. A place to bring a dispute, a get, or a shailah.
• Rabbinic leadership. Rabbonim the community can turn to.
